NMIX 7005: Emerging Media Projects

As Emerging Media Masters students, we are required to produce an Emerging Media Solution known. The EMS pathway includes four classes:

  • JRMC 7011: Project Management and Innovation
  • NMIX 7005: Emerging Media Projects
  • JRMC 8016: User Experience Strategy
  • JRMC 7015: Emerging Media Capstone

My group and I began ideating, writing pitches, and justification briefs in JRMC 7011: Project Management and Innovation. We created a mobile-based mobile-based marketplace to connect students, faculty, and staff in the University of Georgia community to assist them in securely buying, selling, and trading goods and services.

My group and I went through three name changes with each iteration:

  • UGA Marketplace: We did not want to use University of Georgia branding
  • Dog Deals: We thought the name was too vague
  • CampusX: we liked the unknown “X” variable because any campus can participate

CampusX is our final name. CampusX is a mobile-based marketplace for faculty, staff, and students to buy, trade, and sell. It is restricted to .edu email addresses.

We had to complete three Checkpoints in NMIX 7005. We created a project pitch, justification brief, Alpha and Beta versions of the app, a website, and style guides.

We began by creating a black/white, low fidelity wireframe and sitemap then created a high-fidelity, interactive prototype with Adobe XD.

We then researched color theory for our color scheme, fonts, and created the logos

We went through countless iterations. We changed the color of the logo, changed the color scheme, and recreated our prototype. A full explanation of our beta presentation is below.
